Time Flies

Time Flies I still remember vividly Mr.Ng coming to report to me. It was a Wednesday and    during    my scope day. He walked into the scope room and gave me the letter of reporting. I thought he was reporting as a MO. As he looked so young. I couldn’t believe my eyes that he was actually reporting as a specialist. I realised later it is not he is looking young but I am getting old. I noticed his enthusiasm to learn and excel in the field of surgery. However he was trying to run instead of walking through the journey from the start.I assume he was aware that ‘TIME WILL FLY.’ I,at times need to slow him    down and tickle his conscience to balance his enthusiasm to excel and do    the best for the patients. The things I like about him , when I am very angry and jump at him many    a times. He    will always have    an apologetic face n never argues. For the info, most of the time it is not his fault but caught in b...

VALUE OF LIFE

VALUE OF LIFE We live once. Let that one, Be the one, We live for oneself And for others. Let that one, Be the one, Which create  A heart print.   In the one, Which it wants And to others Who receive it. What we carry, Is the heart print Which was left, By the one. Not the money, Not the house, Nor the position  Which we own. Friends, live The life  You love. Love the life You live. As tomorrow, Is not ours, Yesterday is memory, Today is ours.  To spend  With love ones. To create  The heart prints, Which we want Them to cherish

MY MOTHER

MY MOTHER   Mother is a precious gift of relation which infuse    life into the living. Who protects and nurture a life from the bud to bloom on this earth. Every mother is an epitome of life to every child. In that sense, my mother is everything in my life. Though she had more than a dozen over children. She was able to understand each child’s requirements and demands to the core. As such, she can share her love to the maximum according to the wishes of her children. Till she melts like a candle to give a brighter and better life to each of her children’s. She has vanished but she had created many more candles to give light to this existence

HUMANS ARE HUMANS

HUMANS ARE HUMANS Even plants have lives.  Isn’t plants keep growing everyday n can out live humans? However for our sustenance, we sacrifice it; just because it doesn’t struggle like the other animals. So we are encouraged to eat it rather animals by certain group of humans. Yes, animals have extra senses compared to plants. The higher their in the rank of animal kingdom. The    struggle to live is stronger. Some of their struggle can be related to humans who have 6 senses. However if there is no sacrifice in this chain of sustenance in animal n plant kingdom. Then the    whole living in the earth will be vanished . Thus if one’s life is sacrificed, it should be for the purpose of sustenances and not for game or joy. That is what practiced by lower animals and even plants. Humans with 6 senses instead of practicing the law of sustenance like any other animals or plants. They being higher in the animal kingdom. Whom blessed with the 6 senses compared to any li...

Policy U-turn on PTPTN waiver unfair to high achievers

HL: Policy U-turn on PTPTN waiver unfair to high achievers   SF: The students worked hard to gain an exemption and it is unjust that the policy be reversed and applied retroactively.  The policy U-turn under which the waiver of Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) loan repayments has been abolished is a very disheartening mood that dashes the aspirations of those students who strived to attain the goal. My son one of the few who have been hit hard by this move.  After toiling very hard for the past five years to get exempted from paying the loan as promised by the PTPTN for high achievers, he managed to complete his degree courses with honours in Sept 2019. Just imagine the horror when they were told that the policy had actually been reversed in Jan 2019.  So the students feel cheated out of the high achiever incentive that was promised when they first took the loan. It is perplexing to learn that PTPTN changed its policy on a whim and has back...

The Solo Trekking Trip

Climbing Meera Peak at Nepal   Last year around mid March, I went on a mission to conquer Meera Peak. The Peak is 6200m. The ambitious attempt was hatched a year back, as every three years once I will try clambering at least one high altitude mountain. As we know most of high altitude mountains are stacked in Himalaya range in most Nepal. Beside Nepal is a very conducive place for trekking. As my previous attempt was done to Base camp Everest and Kalapatar solo too around April 2013 and in September Kilimanjaro in Tanzania which I was able to complete my climb. So my next attempt was to achieve more than 6000m.Thus Meera Peak appeared falls in my purview. So I organised that trekking trip with the help of my adopted daughter by name Puspa in Kathmandu. As I was busy with my work and life here.Puspa was shocked I am going to attempt this Peak as it is not a well frequented peak and the treks are not well formed. She try to dissuade me from attempting it but I assuming the climb ...

The Trekking Experience I Will Never Forget..

The long-awaited Kilimanjaro trekking expedition in  September 2014 required four flights and around two days of travel to reach Moshi, where the Kilimanjaro mountain is situated. The beautiful free-hanging mountain was so magnificent and gigantic which was visible from Moshi. We stayed at a hotel whereby the high raised walls kept the surrounding slums invisible.  The next morning, the three of us (Henry, Paige, and me) were briefed by the guide Mr.Mcdeme on the dos and don’ts of trekking. We were then driven in a van towards the Machame village which was the starting point of our trekking. The ride was very bumpy but the scenery was breathtaking. On reaching the Machame gate, all the required formalities were done by our guide. Then, the paraphernalia for the camping was carried by the porters and our trekking began with a well-formed trek which was lined by dense vegetation on both sides. We reached the Macheme campsite after 5 hours of trekking an 11 kilometers leng...

CONSEQUENCE OF IRRATIONAL YOUTHS OF TODAY

CONSEQUENCE OF IRRATIONAL YOUTHS OF TODAY  It is disheartening to see the picture of four youths handcuffed in The Star front page on Tuesday 20th June 2017, that young men's life being shattered due to irrational actions of them. They may have bullied away from life from this earth and brought life long misery to the family of the victim and the perpetrators. The person who died may rest in peace but the living now has to carry the pain of the departed. The perpetrators have to spend their life behind bars and all their dreams of the future are crushed. The family members have to face and carry the sorrows of their loved ones who are going to spend the rest of their time in prison and up and down the court and pleading to various agencies for mercy for their children. It is a very sad situation to be in and I hope we won't come across another such incidence. It all boil downs to no proper guidance from the parents, education, law, religious bodies, and societies as a whole....

A Wild Mare

A Wild Mare  There was a beautiful and wild mare. Once a horse trainer caught her and tamed the mare. It was a very obedient and tamed mare. However, the trainer doesn't know how to maintain and show love. Thus it released itself and came wilder. Due to good nature and holding rigidly to the Supreme by the mare. God heard her cry. So the mare got a second handler after many couldn't handle her. Though the handler is good but not perfect. Thus the mare though tamed and homely but occasionally the mischievous wildness of the mare will disturb it on and off. The mare due to its anger, try to be wild; but it has forgotten, it loves to be the tame mare and don't like to face the consequence of the bizarre action of a wild mare later. By the way, it is a good mare and if given time, it will come a lively and lovely as it has got a good handler; who can understand her better than anyone else

THE INDIVIDUALS WHO MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE JOURNEY

THE INDIVIDUALS WHO MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE JOURNEY The people who made me who I am today, if I keep them in my closet in this world of information technology, it is as though I am not doing any justice to my conscience and not giving credit to those who deserve it. It has long been due, but today I decided to pen down and convey my gratitude to them. When I saw Siddhartha in my school's WhatsApp group, my childhood days flashed through my mind. He was one of the early ones who woke the sleeping genius within me although at that time I was a mediocre student. I remember vividly during one of the standard 5 classes, my class teacher was on emergency leave. So, we were scattered into two other classes(5A and 5B) and I was sent to class 5A. During the English lesson, the teacher asked me to read a paragraph from the textbook. I didn't even know which paragraph they were reading and could not even pronounce the first word of the paragraph. The English teacher then asked Sidd...

My Study Journey In Foreign Land

Re: My Study Journey In Foreign Land My life journey to India was full of surprises. It was a journey in pursuit of a dream. For the dream, I need to sacrifice my youth, my loved ones, and stay far away from home; sweet home. Staying in India were full of challenges beyond imaginable, to achieve the dream I pursue. The dream became a reality by passing the plus2 examinations against the odds. Then the odd became a reality by joining the medical college which was always my dream. The 1st day of my college was the 4th month of my classmates in college. To my amazement, most of my classmates appeared like a small boy and girl. The 1st person I met, on my 1st day of college was Vinod. He was surprised by my late entry into the batch. The next person, I was attracted and came close to me, was Mathi(Britisher)who I realized a villager but thinks and talks like a foreigner and also a happy go lucky character. He introduced to Prem, who appears to be so innocent, brilliant, holy, and ver...

Memorable Wedding Reception

Re: Memorable Wedding Reception  It was a very exhilarating and vibrant wedding party which I had attended in recent years. It allowed me to loosen up and have a wonderful time together. Besides that, we were able to catch up with our close-knitted family and friends in a jovial mood. The wedding theme of “the garden party” suited the occasion very well. The decoration as the backdrop within a secluded bungalow was unique in its way. The entertainments were arranged in such a way that it blended well with the guests and to a certain extent, it caught some of the guests with lots of surprises. The food was sumptuous and belly-filling. Oh yeah!!! The free flow of various types of drinks along with the combination of the food was a feeling of paradise brought down temporarily to the guests. I also have to mention the most beautiful and cheerful couple who made our day by their union. They created this temporary paradise for us to forget the hustle and bustle of the outside worl...

Empathy Is Part Of Healing

Empathy Is Part Of Healing Empathy is very much lacking in current medical practice. It is a pity to empathy itself, as it should be the cornerstone in alleviating the patients and the relatives from the pain of getting lost in the wilderness of medical care to the disease. In the current era of medical care, the patient is not viewed as a human with suffering but more of a humanoid with a defect. Thus, the human doctors and other medical staff turn into emotionless people, whereby the service to the sick and the relatives become non-existent. In the process, human robots give treatment to humanoids to correct the defect with no qualms to reason it out with the patients or the relatives of what is being done and what is to be anticipated. So, there is a shut down in communication with the patients and their relatives. They are expected to deduce whatever imaginative superlatives which they assume are being done by the medical staff. Is this what medicine is? Well, medicine has it...
