My Study Journey In Foreign Land
Re: My Study Journey In Foreign Land
My life journey to India was full of surprises.
It was a journey in pursuit of a dream.
For the dream, I need to sacrifice my youth, my loved ones, and stay far away from home; sweet home.
Staying in India were full of challenges beyond imaginable, to achieve the dream I pursue.
The dream became a reality by passing the plus2 examinations against the odds.
Then the odd became a reality by joining the medical college which was always my dream.
The 1st day of my college was the 4th month of my classmates in college.
To my amazement, most of my classmates appeared like a small boy and girl.
The 1st person I met, on my 1st day of college was Vinod. He was surprised by my late entry into the batch.
The next person, I was attracted and came close to me, was Mathi(Britisher)who I realized a villager but thinks and talks like a foreigner and also a happy go lucky character.
He introduced to Prem, who appears to be so innocent, brilliant, holy, and very cheerful. Prem's upbringing by his mom taught us what was love and humbleness.
For that, I and my friend Mathi were grateful to his whole family.
We instantly became a bond that is difficult to break then and even now.
There were no days we don't meet or talk throughout our college life.
This Prem widens our links by bringing in Latha and Raghu.
Both initially appeared a bit scary to me.
But I able to appreciate the inner beauty in them which were covered by their external ugliness, which was the masks they wore and liked by many of our classmates.
Thus we had instant food supply in a carrier by Latha; and Raghu was there to keep us laughing with his eccentric behaviors, songs, and looks.
The college life revolved around them and with them, without much pain and always only sweet dreams of the yesteryears of medical studies.
Before we realized, the time flew. Fast forward to now; we are consultants, professors, family men, and most importantly grown old with years but our friendships are still strong as yesteryears though we are settled at a different part of the world.
