Deserving Contract Doctors
I agree π― with ur reasoning
1.There are to many passing out
2.They are not striving, as they expected
3.Many appear not interested
4.Ranking n grading maybe biased
My points are:-
1. There are number of good ones which show lots of effort, got the required papers like external exams and willing to go beyond it.
But this group of doctors are not recognised or confirmed.
They are currently MOs who are actually illegible to apply for PG program.
As such this group of drs if not confirmed they can’t apply for masters (according to masters requirement).
Nothing done about this junior drs n they don’t have way out to complete the external PG exams too.
This group of MOs already have good ranking at hospital n department level.
Also got the required passed external exams n academic paper presentation.
No justice done to themππ
From 2020 up to June 2021 only 100 medical officers confirmed in service so far.
I opine due too many poor quality n average drs.EVEN THE REALLY STRIVING N HARDWORKING FEW DOCTORS ARE OVERLOOKED
THE FLAWS IN THE SYSTEM
1. Higher Education
a. can’t control n limit the student intake n flourishing number of medical colleges.
b. We already have surplus medical students, as such transform local government universities to train Post Graduates teaching n stop undergraduate medical students intake.
c. Reduce or stop sending medical studies overseas. As we have surplus medical students n colleges in Malaysia already.
2.MOH
a. We definitely need certain amount of confirmed medical doctors to maintain the service.
As such definitely they need to confirm certain amount of doctors every year.
That confirmation not done from last year.If I am not wrong last year only 100 MOs confirmed and posted to Sabah/Sarawak.
2. If they can’t confirm everyone fine but they should come up with plan for this contract doctors opportunities to do their postgraduate studies ( as one of the standard expectations of doctors is to upgrade n improve the knowledge n skills)
NOW HOW THEY GOING TO DO IT IF THE POSTGRADUATE INTAKE STIPULATE ONLY CONFIRMED DOCTORS CAN APPLY.
If I am not wrong at the year of 2022 the 1st batch of CONTRACT DOCTORS are actually illegible to apply for the Masters program.
At for now only 100 doctors so far confirmed in service.
So only this 100 could apply n rest can’t progress in their careers.
Is it right what we doing for the junior doctors, who in contract and deserving ones.
Boss.....whatever you have stated is all clear defined and true to the core....I could not more agree with you....the reality of such given 'SELECTION' is and always have been steered politically and this has been our problem from the very beginning. I sincerely wish you all the best and hope that the situation our medical arena will steer towards the betterment of Malaysian drs.
