Mt.Kinabalu versus Nepal Base Camps

 Stop walking on hills n start walking on stairs  like flats,condominium or apartments. 

As 80% of hike of Mt Kinabalu are staircase.

No other way to conquer that mountain with ease.

Don't underestimate Mt Kinabalu.

It is much tougher than Nepal base camp climbs bcos at Mt.Kinabalu one is expected to ascend around 2500m n 10km within 6 to 8 hours to reach the peak which is at 4092m.

As such it gives lots of strain to the lower limbs muscle n joints.

Beside the heart is strained to pump harder to maintain the oxygen demand to the working tissues at high attitude with low oxygen availability and the lung must be good to support that demand.

It might be easy to do at young age but older age can be challenging.

I saw a bit different doing at different age in coping with pain n vital organs post extreme sports as body mechanism changes n slow recovery.

But to those who love and train for their passion.The pain maybe worth a try.
