Pickpockets Experience At Europe Tour
Today, on the way to Vatican by metro train.
I experienced a scary situation.
.
In a highly congested train, a group of pickpockets a working as a team try to steal my belongings from my pockets.
What I amazed is their abilities to open most of my kargo pants pockets within seconds to steal.
Luckily, at the fluke of time, I was able to detect the movement and prevent the stealing.
They are genius in pickpocketing.
However, we try yo outbeat them;they will come up with a better way to steal our belonging.
How to overcome
1. Stay away from crowded areas
2. Avoid close body contact
3. Be very conscious and aware of the surrounding
4. Keep all belongings in inner body jackets or inner pants pockets.
5. Lastly, don't appear lost ,rushy, or try picking anything drop by someone.
6. Don't be too engrossed on the mobile while on the move.
Others Experience
1 Lucky you! I've had experience with pickpockets in Paris. Two kids, a boy and a girl, tried to steal from my wife's handbag. Luckily, she realised on time and prevented them from stealing.
2.In March, I was in Europe for a month and my travelling partner lost more than RM 4k to the pickpockets in Milan. I remember I did tell you the experience and also their modus operandi.
3.This is what I've figured out regarding their modus operandi:
Surround you first, then the one in front of you will try to DISTRACT you with an innocent face and foreign language as though you have done something wrong or unacceptable. The rest at your back will do their curi part, then pass your wallet to the one farthest away from you. If you want to go after him or her with your wallet (assuming you know what has already happened, but usually you don't), the rest will try to block you, this is when the violence part may happen.
4.Yea ... I had the same experience in Paris and Sao Paola. They work as a team and are experts understanding human physiological behaviour. Your advice is true ... prevent close body contact and crowded area and be very alert. There is no choice.
Naga,
ReplyDeleteGood old Madras had skilled workers too, PTC bus was where they plied their trade!
There's a backpack made from a variety of high-strength materials, with Kevlar, polyethylene (PE), and ceramic composites. Non penetrative to knifes and blades.
ReplyDeleteVery difficult to identify them as they have learnt to blend into the crowd. And, these pick pockets, they work like a pack of wolves. Never alone.
