Cult And Religion My Understanding
Cult is a practise by an individual or group, based on certain parts of the doctrine or religious practices from the main religion, which the primary religion does not endorse or approve.
It is common in Abrahamic religions, which are in Christians and Muslims but not common in Judaism bcos that religion is based on birth right rather than conversion.
It is neither common in Hinduism as this religion is also by birth right, and it is a religion of assimilative.
Well, coming to Christinity, there are many cult practices that are documented and monitored by many countries and recognised Christian mainstream bodies.
In Christianity of the Roman Catholic section, they are very strict with their conversation, which is if a person want to convert, need a year of classes n need permission from the family members who want to convert. Then only they can be baptised as a Catholic.
However, the other segment of Christianity which is known as Protestian. In this conversion, it is easy like the Muslims - just pray over them and repeat the prayer of conversion - u r converted to Christian of that segment from that moment.
Beside that there is another small group of Christians, something like a cult called as, Assembly Of God under an independent church, which is run by individual who think he or she knows bible by hard n assume practicing according to the bible. As they interprete the bible to their understanding.
Now, in Muslims, similar practices like Christians, as I have written above, as these are Abrahamic religions in origin.
As Christianity was an older religion and had lots of mistakes, misinformation and misinterpretation by the scholars n priest on religious practice n doctrine which made followers angry ,upset and split within to many other groups like Protestant n even to cult; n some in the process lost faith in the religion.
However in Muslims , it is kept under strict control by scholars and religious heads, and the followers are unable to talk freely of the pros n cons or against the religious authorities. Besides uniformity of religious practise a must.
But with modernization, information technology, and globalisation. The religion currently needs to face the reality of the world and accountabilities.
As such, it is facing its own dilemma, such as the cult and other internal religious issues, which it needs to stabilise and reform with time.
Well, every religion has its goodness, but the humans who are knowledgeable about the practice or the doctrine will try to manipulate towards their benefits, as human, being human.
It is the duty of the believer to find the wisdom of their religion as the Almighty God has given us the free will n knowledge to seek the Truth.ππ½♂️
